So, I now have all of the Greg The Bunny episodes on my computer, if not all in high-quality format. Next big task is to burn them all to SVCDs and then find some poor sap(s) to inflict them on.

But, for now, I think I'm gonna try that sleep thing, before its 7 am again. Wish me luck.

Wakeys!

So, the sleep idea sort-of worked. I got to sleep at around 3:00 am and managed to wake myself at 10:00 am, so I'm kinda on a day shift now. All I have to do is get to bed at a reasonable time tonight, and we'll be all set.

In completely irrelevant news, I've finally figured out how I want to instrument the website(s) I'm putting together on my home machine. (They'll later be moved to a dedicated server. For now though, this is more convenient.) So, now I just have to write a bunch of mod_perl scripts, see if I can get the fastcgi stuff working, and actually organize some content. And THAT reminds me:

[livejournal.com profile] _sps_: I don't suppose you ever found those old tarballs of the website you were putting together ages ago? I thought I had a copy of the content, but I can't find it. Oh, and I may be interested in anything you have from the aborted thing-watch project. I'm having ideas....

So, I got a bunch of holliday cards lately. It makes me feel slightly guilty, since I haven't sent out any, but I've always found the tradition to be a bit odd.  Anyway, my Mom sent me and [livejournal.com profile] taxlady some small amount of money. It at least guarantees that I'll be going to see RoTK in the next week or so, after the mega-crowds have diminished, and that's a GOOD thing! :-)

I also got a card from a non-LJ friend who indicates that he reads my blog. Eeep! I know I've been telling everyone I meet that I write this thing, but I never really believed any non-LJers would bother to read it. Anyway, a big <WAVE> to Capt. Jim.  Oh, and I did get your e-mail. I planned to do something about it as soon as I had a free moment. Heh, I may as well have decided to put it in a peat bog for 1000 years. I don't know WHEN I'll next have what I would call a free moment, so I'll try to get to it today, okay?

So today marks the first official day on which LJ ranks above Dilbert (and all other comics) on my official daily routine. I've been finding myself reading LJ before my comics in the morning at irregular intervals for some while now, and I've finally decided to re-orgainize my 'Daily Readings' Bookmark folder accordingly.

I've also been hankering for a "Republican's for Voldemort" T-Shirt, but I'm not sure if its the slogan, or the model that has me convinced:

... but that sure looks like a nice shirt.

Although, I should note, my wishlist would put the Dune Litany of Beer Mug sligthly higher on the want scale:

OOps! It looks like its been discontinued. DANG!

So, for the FIRST TIME EVER I have succeeded in using the Gimp to do something. I have tried in the past to do such simple acts as recolor an image, resize an image or glue two images together. All have failed spectacularly.  The collective whoever that wrote the Gimp knows less-than-nothing about User Interface design, since I cannot imaging even a complete dolt designing things to work the way they do in Gimp. My only conclusion is that someone THINKS they know what they're doing, and they're horribly, horribly wrong. So, anyway my slight success was to capture a screen image, crop the unnecessary and save the results. This took about 5 times as long and many more operations than it should have, and involved large amounts of undoing.  In contrast, the only time I've done this using the ACDSee package it worked the first time, without difficulty, in 3 operations (Capture, Crop, Save), and I would give ACDSee only about a 7/10 for UI design.

Anyway, the thing that I did was capture a Mr. Picassohead that I did of myself early in December. If I only had an image hosting service I trusted, I could show it to all of you. Instead, you can go and look it up here, and perhaps make your own.
