I had hoped this wouldn't happen, but it did. I'm still awake. My body has been insisting on a night schedule ever since [livejournal.com profile] denizsarikaya's party. This wouldn't be a problem, but there's a list of chores that have been put off for too long and are now getting critical. This includes picking up food for the cats, because we're completely out of the dry stuff, getting some papers from my ex-work so I can collect some money, buying milk and cheese and party stuffs (from at least 3 different stores), buying some bits and bobs from a convenient hardware store, and getting the place cleaned up.  You notice that only that last item can be done in the middle of the night.

And speaking of food and stuff, folks who know us will know that [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I generally buy "Organic" (ie pesticide-free) food whenever possible. So, we were delighted when a non-LJ friend pointed out an article in today's gazette:

SMART SHOPPING by Sandra Phillips

Boucherie Fresh Cutz, 11604 de Salaberry Blvd, at Sources Blvd. on the outside of the Marche de l'Ouest. Phone: (514) 685-2998. Hours: Monday to Wednesday 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Thursday and Friday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

This newly opened, interestingly designed butcher shop is now the biggest distributor of beef in Canada. It sells organic Kobe beef called Wagyu, raised in Canada, that has luscious 65-percent marbling. Besides the beef, you can buy organic veal, chicken, turkey, lamb, and soon, pork. Ready-to-eat meals like veal parmesan, boeuf bourguignon, ginger chicken, shepherd's pie, Greek meatballs, and stuffed chicken legs are also available.

Since this is just down the street from us, we plan to check it out soon.

A 30m resolution mosic Landsat image of most of Canada will be available here shortly. They've gone and jpeged it down to 3.2 GB, so I'm sure they've lost some details. Meanwhile, they have a few smaller-resolution versions of the same thing ready for download. For instance here's montreal:

Which you can click on for a better view. If you go to the site you'll see that some far northern bits of Canada are missing, due to being outside of Landsat's imaging area.
