Mr. Picassohead
Dec. 18th, 2003 01:06 pmSo, for the FIRST TIME EVER I have succeeded in using the Gimp to do something. I have tried in the past to do such simple acts as recolor an image, resize an image or glue two images together. All have failed spectacularly. The collective whoever that wrote the Gimp knows less-than-nothing about User Interface design, since I cannot imaging even a complete dolt designing things to work the way they do in Gimp. My only conclusion is that someone THINKS they know what they're doing, and they're horribly, horribly wrong. So, anyway my slight success was to capture a screen image, crop the unnecessary and save the results. This took about 5 times as long and many more operations than it should have, and involved large amounts of undoing. In contrast, the only time I've done this using the ACDSee package it worked the first time, without difficulty, in 3 operations (Capture, Crop, Save), and I would give ACDSee only about a 7/10 for UI design.
Anyway, the thing that I did was capture a Mr. Picassohead that I did of myself early in December. If I only had an image hosting service I trusted, I could show it to all of you. Instead, you can go and look it up here, and perhaps make your own.
