I just learned that Hayao Miyazaki died this weekend, of a stroke. He was a Grand Master of the art of animation, and he will be sorely missed.

Oh, I forgot to mention I am certain it is untrue. Which is why I more interested in its origin.

There were announcements about his attendance of some Ghibli production processes, something like on Thursday. No announcements more recent than that on any Ghibli/Miyazaki sites.

I heard it from philfoglio. People are now asking him where HE heard it.

Boy, I hope its just a nasty rumour!

He's updated to say that he was misinformed, and Miyazaki is alive and well.
