It means something like "Speedy". taxlady said once that elevators in Scandinavia have "Ifart" as the button to start the elevator going.

This is a product that has been around for a few years. Steve has wanted to buy it JUST for the name.

My German teacher at Waterloo derived great pleasure in teaching people to say "you drive", as in a car, as in the plural version of you: "ihr fahrt", pronounced, approximately, ear-fart.
