[livejournal.com profile] taxlady managed to badly sprain her ankle last night. This is a problem as she had several plans for going out today, to a client, to [livejournal.com profile] kyotto's potluck and housewarming, and to Tarasmas. All of these we're going to have to cancel, as she can't walk unaided, and is in no condition to drive. Instead, the two of us are going to stay home and watch some movies or something.

Tomorrow morning we're going to get her to the (relatively) nearby Brunswick medical center to have them look at the ankle and confirm that its just a sprain and she hasn't torn or broken anything. Meanwhile, I'm sure she'd appreciate any 'Get Well Soon' vibes that anyone wishes to send her.

NaNoWriMo

I've been vacillating about doing NaNoWriMo this year. On the one hand, I really want to get this damn story finished, and at the rate I'm going its going to take another 2 or 3 years. Every NaNoWriMo produces an order of magnitude more words than I manage on it during the rest of the year combined, so I really don't like the idea of skipping a year.

On the other hand, so many things are gong on in my life right now, I don't know if I'll be able to do any real work, even if I do sign up again. On the other, other hand, I just spent all day yesterday unifying the separate edits from the two different versions I managed to end up with, so now I have a single narrative to work on again. This would have been pointless to do now had I not been planning on doing NaNoWriMo.

So, color me still very undecided.

Shhhhhh...

Right now, it looks like [livejournal.com profile] sucha is asleep on the toilet seat. I didn't get close enough to be sure, but at the very least she's dozing. That's good. She hasn't wanted to eat much the last few days, which has made getting medicine into her difficult. But, sometime during the night she chewed up some pork I had left out for her, and it was liberally sprinkled with her medicine, so she at least got some. If that's letting her sleep, that's a good thing.

Meanwhile, [livejournal.com profile] taxlady is curled up on the couch downstairs with [livejournal.com profile] shreddy, and both of them are sound asleep. It makes the entire house peaceful and calm, which is something I've sorely missed lately.

Now I just have to keep quiet as to not disturb anyone, or use the bathroom ( :-/ ). I'd be tempted to go back to bed myself, if it wasn't for the fact I've just drunk half a pot of coffee to help me wake up.

Here's a fake motivational poster I really like. Not least because it echoes a personal philosophy (and not just in the implied context either).

I got this image from this site with many others.

I've been following [livejournal.com profile] azrhey's RSS feed ([livejournal.com profile] azrheyfind_feed) about interesting household products, and I found something that should definitely be on the list. Its a fridge built with beer drinkers in mind, in that it has a draft-beer dispenser in the door, and room inside for an additional pair of 5-liter kegs, so you don't always have to drink the same brew.
