I've been vacillating about doing NaNoWriMo this year. On the one hand, I really want to get this damn story finished, and at the rate I'm going its going to take another 2 or 3 years. Every NaNoWriMo produces an order of magnitude more words than I manage on it during the rest of the year combined, so I really don't like the idea of skipping a year.
On the other hand, so many things are gong on in my life right now, I don't know if I'll be able to do any real work, even if I do sign up again. On the other, other hand, I just spent all day yesterday unifying the separate edits from the two different versions I managed to end up with, so now I have a single narrative to work on again. This would have been pointless to do now had I not been planning on doing NaNoWriMo.
So, color me still very undecided.

Date: 2007-09-30 04:26 pm (UTC)My LJ witterings to this effect have shown how much I vacillated from not doing it (July) to OK, maybe I will (September).
Angorian got me interested last year but I can't lay the blame at her door for this November madness.
It was such a total buzz and *very* motivating last time, which is why I am even slightly contemplating the sleep-deprivation-no-life-beyond-writing again.
And, "...Missing a deadline that only I care about has never had much motivation to me..." is just so me, too.
