Right now I'm feeling kinda shut in and put upon. I've had trouble enough in the last week getting any work done, when I was just taking care of [livejournal.com profile] sucha all day long. Now that I'm taking care of [livejournal.com profile] taxlady too, its just gotten worse. I don't blame either of them, but I can't say I'm happy with the situation (then again, neither are either of them.)

I had been really looking forward to getting out yesterday and seeing people and having a good evening socializing, since it seems I haven't really been doing much of that lately. Instead, because of [livejournal.com profile] taxlady's accident, we stayed home. Again, its more of a disappointment than a disaster, but right now I don't have much to look forward to before Con*cept, and that has now somehow morphed into a working convention for me.

Anyway, very shortly I'll be helping Linda go to the Brunswick Medical Center to have her ankle looked at, and possibly to rent some crutches. We'll then decide what next week will look like, once we have some sort of prognosis on her condition.

I'm just helping to spread the word here. LiveJournal has announced that it will be mailing out 30$ gift certificate codes to whoever asks before October 1st. The codes can then be used at DonorsChoose.org to help pay for school supplies for American kids. Basically, teachers post saying what they would do with the money, and how much they need, and you choose what particular project to put the money towards.

As a Canadian, I am very concerned with the massive lack of education evidenced by our Nuclear-equipped neighbors to the south of us, and anything I can do (especially for free!) to help mitigate this is time well spent. I've already sent away for my Gift Certificate.
