No other day makes me feel this way,
Its got to be Monday.

Above are lyrics from an obscure song who's title and artist both escape me. Heard it once or twice many years ago and have never been able to find a copy, in .mp3 or any other form. They seem especially appropriate today as I'm working on 4 hours sleep. Had to get up though, because the plumber is due around 1:00 pm (theoretically..) and he'll need access to the closet in the master bedroom. So, not only do I need to be awake (and dressed) when he gets here, I need to have dug a path to the closet door for him.

Ugh. Its got to be Monday.

Sometimes, when I'm tired like I am now, my eyes will see a phrase and I will read something completely different. Moments ago there was a headline about Microsoft trying to "Charm EU" and my brain reported that as "Charm Cthulhu"...

Last week in a bookstore I was checking out fantasy novels and my brain interpreted the title 'Prince of Shadows' as 'Prince of Sodomy'. WTF?

Does this happen to anyone else?

Plumbing

The plumber just left. It took him a fair amount of effort and some specialized tools, but he managed to remove the old drain and overflow pipe from the bathtub and replace them with new ones. Preliminary drip tests seem to indicate that this has, indeed, fixed the problem that caused our dining-room ceiling to cave in. If no problems arise over the next few days, it will be possible to go ahead with ceiling repairs. Of course, that may have to wait until the new year. It may not be possible to get ahold of reno people for the next week or so. *shrug*

At least that's one more (sub-)problem solved.

What?

I turned into a pumpkin hours ago, so why am I still awake? Just stupid, I guess -- after all, I'm a pumpkin...
