Yay me!

I just got to a sticky part of my novel, a spot where I was either going to have to make up a bunch of numbers or spend a few hours calculating, so I decided it was time for another word-count update. I'm over the 50,000! With a whole day to spare!

So, Yay me!

I'm awake. I slept in because I was up late last night, but at least it was deliberate for once. When I saw that I was less than 500 words away from finishing my novel, I decided to just stay up and finish it. Those turned out to be a difficult 500 words because one of the characters was in a situation that was supposed to take several thousand words to resolve and took care of it in one paragraph, leaving all the other characters, and the author, somewhat off balance.

Anyway, I sorted it out and finished the novel and went to bed. I'll be going to the NaNoWriMo meetup tonight, although I may have to take the train to get there. At least with it being at central station, that's not much of a hardship.

Big Bugs.

Its a shame they probably couldn't survive today. Wouldn't it be nifty to have a pet scorpion big enough to ride on? Okay, maybe not to ride on, but bigger than a person anyway.

Its not really a surprise that Roblimo of Slashdot fame understands the internet and its relationship to traditional publishing. He has just written an article that goes into great depth detailing what most Newspapers are doing wrong in the Internet age and what they need to do to survive. I agree with the mast majority of the article.
