Sleep.

I was supposed to be asleep hours ago. Somehow I never got around to it. Maybe its time I gave it a shot.

G'night all!

Grump.

I was in bed and getting ready to sleep when the power went out. It took me a while to find and light some candles, and to find the flashlight and some batteries for it. By the time all that was done the power was back on.

I rebooted the server, and told it to reboot by itself if the power goes out again. At least that way if it happens while I'm away I don't have to call someone to come over and hit the 'on' button on the thing.

Of course, the last thing I did before bed was to program the VCR with what I want it to tape while I'm gone. Right now, it doesn't even know what its channels are, but I figure it can blink 12:00 until I get around to reprogramming it tomorrow.

So, now, once more, I shall try to get to bed. And sleep. If I can remember how.

I've got a bunch of last-minute things to do today. Visit the bank for traveller's cheques, drop off some books at the library downtown, etc. No big deal, but I don't feel nearly awake enough to do it. The power kept going on and off last night and kept waking me up.

The plan is to have nothing to do tomorrow but eat breakfast, do one last quick clean up and head to the airport. I wonder how well that plan will work.

Ah well, enough attempts at waking up. I've got to head out now. As The Doctor once said "Time and Tide melts the Snowman!"

I wanted to go with [livejournal.com profile] taxlady to the opening of Serenity but I'll be in Denmark when it starts. I guess I'll have to see it with her when I get back. It probably won't be showing in Denmark for another six months.

Sometimes it seems like there's a bazillion things left to do, but the list is steadily growing smaller. Between now and 1:00 pm tomorrow I need to:
  • finish packing my carry-on bag
  • print out some technical documents to read on the trip.
  • print out some porn to read on the trip
  • Sleep.
  • Leave out food and water for the cats.
  • Wash the final handful of dirty dishes.
  • Take the last load of scraps to the compost, and turn the compost.
  • Store my HD backup in the safe.
  • Water the flowers.
  • Buy baking soda and elastoplast bandages at the pharmacy.
  • Eat breakfast.
  • Call [livejournal.com profile] xipetotec or [livejournal.com profile] blacksquiggles to let them know everything is on track.
  • Call a cab to take me to the airport.

Tomorrow is going to be a VERY long day for me, but at the end of that long tunnel will be the light of reuniting with my sweetheart, [livejournal.com profile] taxlady.
