Well, it seems that the weaning didn't work, and that I HAD allowed myself to get caffeine addicted. So right now the both of us have nasty withdrawl headaches.
maybe weaning just a tad more slowly - i can relate - did it a few times myself but i am not sure it was worth it in the end tend to fall off the wagon a bit too often for comfort's sake good luck
How many coffees were you having per day? The more you consumed, the slower you need to wean yourself off caffeine! Perhaps cutting your intake in half and seeing how that goes could be easier. =)
Dunno really. I guess I was somewhere around 8 to 12 normal-sized cups a day. Of course, given the size of my cup, that was just two or three.
Besides, I've always found it easiest to go cold turkey, and take a pain killer if necessary. Most of the time it isn't. I was drinking similar amounts last year when taxlady went away on vacation, and I just stopped drinking coffee and switched to tea. Never even had a twinge. This time was different, but by the time I got the headache, it was pointless to do anything but tough it out. Most of the pain and withdrawl symptoms are gone now, and this way I only lost 1/2 a day.
I'm with you on the big coffee mugs! I bought one just yesterday that is nice and big. Heheh.
If you've found it easier in the past to quit straight off the bat, than you should continue on with what works for you. I quit having coffee at home and replaced it with tea about a month ago and I found I had no withdrawal symptoms at all.
Anyway, kind of babbling here. Glad to hear you feel better now, and keep up the good work if you can! =)
