taxlady woke me up a few minutes ago with news that the Museum that I had sent a business proposal to (for an archeological life simulator) just phoned back and they want to talk to me. EEP! What's worse, the guy who asked to speak to me is only in until 14:00 today. So, I figure I should phone him around 13:00 ish. That gives me just another 30 minutes to wake up and boot my brain.

I've already drunk some coffee, and now I think I'll take a fast shower so that I FEEL like I've woken up, and then I'll review the letter I sent (since I now forget its exact content) and THEN I'll phone him back and see what transpires.

Well, I'm cautiously optimistic. The guy I talked to said he was in charge of electronics for the museum, and implied that that was the closest thing they had to a technologist. I answered some simple questions about the proposal (does the software exist already, what would it cost to develop, deploy, etc) and I told him that it would be anywhere from a 6-month project to several years, depending on exactly what they wanted, and that it would require the input of archeologists, historians and artists as well. I also mentioned that it should be a grant-worthy project. He told me he'd been asked to check out my proposal for reasonableness and now had to report back to the head of the museum. If she likes what she hears (I'm thinking that he thinks that likely) then they will get back to me to schedule a face to face meeting sometime.

Yeah! I was just gonna call to inform you, but I guess you read your LJ first. You can call me if you want details (not that there are many).

I would call and tell H the B, but he's in the hospital today for back surgery. They're fixing some sort of vertebrae problem.
