I haven't really posted anything about me for the last two weeks. I've been posting little snippets and such as I have a minute or two free, but that's all. That is mainly because I've been running around like a very busy person. As I told [livejournal.com profile] sarahcarotte a couple of weeks ago, its amazing how busy I am, considering how I don't even have a job right now. It always amazes me how folks can say that without a steady job they wouldn't know what to do with their time. If it wasn't for the lack-of-money thing, I wouldn't even notice my unemployed status.

So lets see, what have I been up to? I'm sure I'm going to forget stuff, because its all turning into a bit of a blur. Well, there was last week, where I had lots of plans that mainly didn't work out. I think the weather was mostly to blame. Although I have air conditioning in my office, I still found it very difficult to think for all of last week.

As a consequence an important letter that I need to write did not get written (and I'm still trying to find time to cram it sideways into my schedule). I also got zero work done on the website(s) that I'm working on (ditto). Nor have [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I sat down and worked out how the basement will be arranged. Instead I had to deal with the return of my insomnia which bollixed my plans for meeting [livejournal.com profile] kalkuly last week, and made it even harder to get work done. A consequence of which is that when my Wednesday RPG game was downgraded for a board gaming night, I begged off to try to get stuff done. (In retrospect, this was a mistake for several reasons. In the end I might as well have gone for all the good it did me to stay home and fail to get anything done.)

So, this week seems to involve massive amounts of scheduled stuff and trying to catch up. The weekend was filled with a visit from [livejournal.com profile] sps as he needed a vacation from the construction hell which is currently engulfing his place (and its always nice to have visitors out here at the west pole). We pretty much just sat around playing games and eating cake, so that was good.

There was a brief interlude when my older brother Marcus dropped by from Cornwall on his way to meet up with some old friends. He dropped off a teapot, courtesy of my Mom and her yard-sale-fu, to replace the small one we broke three weeks ago and he also gave me some of his old RPG paraphernalia that he never uses any more.

So, the long weekend was very relaxing, but not exactly productive. Tuesday morning was a second try at getting together with [livejournal.com profile] kalkuly, which was much more successful this time. I spent much of the day with her, eating, chatting and visiting libraries. This was very good as I'm making it a point to try and spend time with the important people in my life. Being sociable is sometimes an effort for me,  and I find its just too easy to let things slide sometimes. That's often a mistake though. You can miss a lot that way, but that would take an entire post to fully elaborate, I think.

At one point during my visit with [livejournal.com profile] kalkuly, she had to go to a job she volunteers for and I was left on my own for a few hours, during which time I met a Luddite, but I fear I shall have to leave the description of that encounter for another post as well.

That evening I rendezvoused with [livejournal.com profile] taxlady at Tim's place, as he had invited the two of us to his place for dinner. A fun time was had, and we got home around elevenish last night.

Checking my mail I see that I have managed to double-book myself for today as I thought that Thursday was the 4th. So, I kept tomorrow clear to visit [livejournal.com profile] sfries for her big 40th birthday, and its actually today. Today there is also Warhammer tonight, and I already said I'd go, before I knew there was a conflict. I shall try to untangle this, as soon as I've had more coffee.

In any case, it looks likely I shall either spend today trying to catch up on work, and do RPGing tonight, or I'll spend the day with [livejournal.com profile] sfries and have tomorrow open for work catch-up.

Friday morning I'll have some time for work, but its also [livejournal.com profile] taxlady's and my 10th anniversary and we'll be going out to a restaurant to celebrate (as announced here previously).

Saturday and Sunday are the weekend again, and there should be time to recover, plus there are some social events we've been invited to that we'll have to sort out. We may just stay at home though. Heck, at this point we've already been invited to at least two parties for the weekend AFTER this coming one, so I guess it really is party season now.

Next week I hope to really get a bunch of stuff done, but that was my hope for this week as well as the week before. We shall see.
