Although I did manage to find a few hours for goofing off and playing Civ III, I mostly worked today. I handled a bunch of email in the morning, and once the dishwasher was fixed, I put in a load to wash while I went on a brief shopping trip to Health Tree, the local organic grocery store. Didn't get much, just milk, a green pepper and some decaf coffee, but the first and last items were in critically short supply before I went.
I had a brief rest after I got home and then went and started prepping the basement for painting. That involved a bunch of tidying up, moving some heavy furniture, vacuuming the areas that had previously been under said furniture and then putting blue tape on all the edges where we don't want paint to go accidentally. This last was not as easy as it sounds as it also involved taping garbage bags over light fixtures and dismounting doors. Because of this I didn't quite finish before supper arrived, so I think I'll tackle it tomorrow morning while
taxlady is busy running around seeing clients.
Since supper I've emptied and refilled the dishwasher and hauled a load of recycling out to the curb. Now that the day's chores are done, I'm just going to sit back and relax with a glass or two of wine before I climb into bed.
taxlady, being smarter than me, has already been in bed for an hour and has been fast asleep for the last 59 minutes. Sometimes I really envy her "instant-off" sleep ability.
