Well, I finally succeeded in lulling myself into a state where I was sure I could fall asleep now. I crawled into bed, glanced at the clock, and saw that it was about to ring, since its now time to get up.

Oh, joy.  So, I shall start the day on zero hours sleep. Hopefully, no crises will present themselves and I'll be able to go to bed around noon. I'm not holding my breath though.
