Chaos Visits
Mar. 14th, 2007 03:46 pmHad a lot of trouble sleeping last night, and 10:00 am came waaay too early. That's when the contractor showed up and started demolishing the basement. This had been arranged by
taxlady while I was downtown yesterday. The trouble was, we were in no way ready. The shelves hadn't been moved, the triage hadn't been done, our Internet connection was still downstairs, etc.
So, there was a large amount of stress and running around this morning, and I just NOW finally managed to get the Internet back on. As well, we managed to talk to the guy in charge of scheduling, and told him not to do anything else until Monday. That way we have the time to move and sort everything so that it is possible for the work to be done.
So, what with low amounts of sleep, and high stress levels, I'm a bit of a wreck right now. I had plans to get a bunch of stuff done today, but I'm thinking its getting on towards supper time now, and the day is a washout. Hopefully getting enough sleep the next couple of nights, and the pair of parties I'm going to on the weekend will lower stress levels so that I'll be able to cope with the rest of this renovation 'adventure'.

One of the walls (that they had to tear most of down anyway), should go back up in a different location. So, there will be expenses that we had not planned for, and were in no position to budget for.
On the other hand, its all necessary and it would be far more expensive to do all of this later, so we're biting the bullet and going forward.
