Still Awake.

Well, I suppose its not such a big surprise that I'm currently awake, since I didn't get up until 7:00 pm yesterday. I figure if I stay up until noonish then I'll hit the sack and sleep until 4:00 or 6:00 am. That will mean the 27th will be an 'early-to-bed' day, but its not like I've got anything planned before the 28th (at the earliest). Meanwhile, I've been putting my awakedness to good use. I've finally figured out enough of both Apache and my firewall that I've managed to get multiple websites up on my one IP connection. Now I just have to a) fix a couple of annoying error conditions, b) actually put some content in the static sites, c) figure out how the rewrite rules work so I can have a transparently dynamic site, d) write the code for the dynamic site, e) get subversion working on the dynamic site.

Once ALL THAT is done, I'll be able to work on my book. I will also be in a good position to fix up my old pentium 120 and turn it into a web server, so all of the above isn't being served off of my personal machine. Since my home machine runs windows, it gets rebooted far too much to be an acceptible web server. Especially if I plan to host images.

And in other news, my Mother is trying to convince me to sell a bunch of my junk on EBay. Since I haven't been able to find anyone willing to haul away my old monitor for free, I suppose I'll have to do just that. Now all I need to do is figure out what the routine is for setting up an auction, and what to do when someone wins.

Well, thats good! Seriously though, I didn't want to simply assume that you were going to be providing a new machine. Besides, the dev work needs to be done anyway, and if I do it right migrating to a new machine should be quick enough... (famous last words)
