swestrupI should hit 50,000 words today in my NaNo novel. My plan was to do that yesterday, but I didn't manage. When I discovered that the words weren't coming, I decided to head to bed, only to be kept up by my muse (bitch!) who would not let me sleep until I made countless fruitless attempts to build a mathematical model of an idea I have for another story which I'd already decided I wasn't going to touch until December.
When I finally convinced my brain to let me sleep, sometime around 9:00 am, I slept soundly but awoke from a very unpleasant dream. I do NOT need to be having dreams which tell me that I'm useless as well as incompetent in my chosen field, thank you very much!
It may take some time to wake up and get into the writing mood, but I WILL hit 50,000 today. 52,000 would be best. Then I'd be on track for 60,000 by the 30th.
