Ohh, I ache! The one MAJOR problem I have with booze is that its an anesthetic. Sometime during the party last night I overstrained my right arm, and never noticed it. Later, when all of the wine was wearing off, it got worse and worse. It was so bad that I it woke me up several times in the night. Luckily I happened to have a tube of linament right beside the bed, so I didn't have to go far to do something about it. Now I'm awake, I've slathered on more linament and have taken some painkillers. Now it just twinges when I move it.

I'm feeling rather ... Mellow now. The hard work is over. The party was a great deal of fun, and the cleanup will be easy with a dishwasher. And there is triffle calling me for breakfast. Trifle for breakfast is a holliday tradition from when I was a still living at home, and I am SO glad that taxdragon considers it one worth perpetuating.

Oops. That was a spelling error. The word is "trifle' as in 'Nothing much, just a trifle!". To quote the folks over at Trifle-Hut:

trifle......
"A cold dessert made with sherry, fruit juice or liqueur-soaked sponge
cake in the base of a large or individual dish, covered with layers of
fruit, jelly, custard and whipped cream in various combinations and
usually elaborately decorated"

And it is the most wonderfullest desert ever invented! And, of course, taxlady has a particularly spectacular recipe for it.

In the Great Binge Of 2000, I walked over 30km with two boots full of snow. When I finally collapsed 4 bottles and 10 hours later, I slept solidly for about 2 hours. And then I tried to get up to go to the washroom. The soles of my feet could not support my weight, I'd pulled all the muscles up and down my legs, strained everything in the left side of my back, and pretty much spoiled my taste for liquor. Taught me a valuable lesson about overdoing it :)

I don't have this problem with alcohol of which you speak... but then again I'm 1/2 Bohemian Czech, and 1/2 Celtic Scot... good combination... non? Never had a hangover either... *wink*

Well, I haven't had a hangover either. Well, not since I was 15. My parents introduced me to alcoholic coffees. I only had two, but my head really ached the next morning. My parents recommended hair-of-the-dog, so I did that. It must've worked, 'cause I've never had another hangover.
