Does this count as a useful writing resource? Someone (I forget who, and can't find the post) posted a link a few days ago to a site that describes actual chemical compounds with bizarre names. Among these are arsole, cummingtonite, as well as Curious Chloride and Moronic Acid. Those latter links are all from Wikipedia which (of course) maintains its own list of strange chemical names.

the crystal structure of Cummingtonite is "Monoclinic"...

Which makes me wonder what kind of skanky people these scientists go out with.
