The Decaffination of Sti.

Strange thing happened last night. I felt sleepy so I went to bed. This means I'm awoke at 8:30 after actually having had 8 hours sleep.
I awoke to CHOM talking about a new proposal to move the starting hours of high-school classes to 9:30 or 10:00 am. It seems that recent studies have shown that teenagers don't go to bed late and sleep in because of some perverse need to rebel, but because their body clocks demand it of them. It seems that forcing them to get up early for classes has been not only interfering with their ability to think, but that it does much to cause the emotional outbursts and irritability that teenagers are so famous for. So, I'm tentatively classifying this as a win for the night owls against the evil tyranny of the morning larks who run the world and think everyone should do things their way. CHOM said their site would have a pointer to the study up sometime today, but it doesn't seem to be there yet.
In other news, I'm drinking coffee. Okay, not exactly news, but this is non-decaf. I've been "forced" to drink caffinated coffee for most of this month since we ran out of Decaf and couldn't afford to buy some more. As a result I've been drinking from
taxlady's caffinated supply, which she classifies as a necessity. (I can't blame her, either.)
Yesterday, due to the Government's largesse at giving me my own money back, we went shopping and bought over $400 dollars in food. So, we not only have a full larder, but we've replaced many of the 'emergency' staples that we keep on hand for dealing with the unexpected and that we've lately been dipping into.
As a result we now have Decaf, and I'm going to start weaning myself off the caffinated stuff since I've most likely gotten myself caffeine dependant again. I'm not starting this morning though, as we'll be off to visit the parental units this evening. I'll probably start the switch to decaf after we get back on Friday.
Its nice to have a plan that involves getting out of the house and away. It seems that there are a large number of birthday parties, housewarmings, dinner parties and the like happening in the next few weeks that
taxlady and I shall be making an effort to attend. The challenge will be to somehow stay on my diet while doing so.
