Morningstuff.

swestrupIts morning, and I'm awake. I drifted out of sleep at around 8:00 am, because I was too cold (air conditioner on max + kicked off the covers = COLD). I found the comforter I had kicked off, but I guess my body decided 10 hours was enough (even though I'd only had 5 the night before), and I couldn't fall back asleep.
That's okay. I'm awake and looking forward to doing stuff today. I find it far easier to get in the mood for working on unpleasant stuff (ie. reading manuals for kludgy products that I need to master, but don't want to), if I get up early. Largely that's because I now find it very hard to get started on work after around 6:00 pm at night (go figure -- that was once my most productive time) and if I sleep until to 2:00 pm or something, I'm not really awake before then.
So, I'm currently drinking some of the last coffee in the house and waking up. Obviously, one of the chores for the day is to do some minor shopping, as the cupboards are pretty bare here. A major shop is in order, but the wallet is kind of empty right now. We're waiting on two different sources of money, either of which would allow for some grocery shopping, and both of which have gotten delayed by several days more than expected. C'est la vie.

taxlady and I went away for several days to celebrate our nineth wedding anniversary (on the 6th) and help my parents move into their new place in Cornwall. That plan had us already back by now, but the money delays have messed up those plans. Our houseguest may well have left by the time we manage to get to Cornwall, which means we won't be able to stay as long, as someone will need to feed the cats. Oh well, its not the end of the world, just a further complication.
