Slept in again. I just could not drag myself out of bed at a reasonable time, even if I had had 8 hours sleep. I was finally awoken fully by the total cessation of all electronic/electrical noises in the house. Yup. Power failure.
So I got up, brushed my eyebrows out of my eyes (yet another sign of getting old -- I remember when it was my hair that got in the way of my eyes), and went in search of coffee. Now, we have a butane burner in the basement which can be used indoors, for just such emergencies as this. Of course, the basement was dark and the emergency flashlight was dead.
So, I had found a candle and was lighting it when the power came back on. I quickly made myself an espresso and headed up here to post this. I was just about HERE in my naration when the power went out again.
I headed back downstairs and watched the happenings out my back window while I sipped my coffee. A heck of a lot of fire engines went by. I wonder if that was the cause of the blackout?
I had just finished my coffee and was wondering if I should go in search of that burner, so I could make another, or maybe have a shower first, when the power came back on again. So, I made myself another coffee, and I'm now back here posting this. Luckily, Deepest Sender had saved most of what I had typed before, so I could just continue it.
THIS time though, I haven't rebooted the web server. If the power's still on when I come out of my shower, then I'll boot it.
