I had some slightly disturbing, although not terribly unpleasant dreams last night. At least in some parts of the dream I was well aware that I was dreaming but made no move to try and modify the dream, I just went with it. I DID at one point dream that I was daydreaming about ways to handle a slightly obnoxious situation, while silently enduring it instead. I think that's a new one for me. Usually sub-dreams take over my main dreams. This one didn't.

At one point I was in a bar commiserating with someone that I couldn't believe I was already 42 (actually, I won't be for a few months yet), when it seems like just yesterday I was 22. He said that you get used to it by the time you turn 60.

At another point in the dream I was moving in bullet-time. I had jumped off of a 12-foot high parapet down to some asphalt below, making sure to clear a 5-foot wide moat. Half-way down everything slowed to a crawl. It was a case of bend the knees slightly to absorb the shock, wait, wait, wait, feel the pavement touch the soles of my feet, wait, feel my knees slowly start to bend to take the weight, wait some more, start resisting the impact, wait, start taking a step forward to contain the forward momentum, wait, sloooowly take a step then another, slowly come out of bullet time. Makes me think it would be a real pain to be the flash if that's the way you had to deal with everyday living. (As an aside the Marvel character Quicksilver once mentioned that this is how he always percieves the world, and he spends most of his time being intensely bored.)

So, don't know that there were any profound internal revelations in all that, but I find it interesting that suddenly I'm remembering my dreams again.
