Its a first, small step, but an important one. Scientists have managed to grow replacement sections of human bladder from the patients own bladder tissue. Now, the bladder is one of the simplest organs in the human body, and they've only really managed to grow the easy parts of it, but it is still a massive improvement on what they were using before. Soon, as the techniques for doing this improve, I expect to see fully functional replacement organs being grown on demand.
