I know a number of folks on my friends list have gotten recruiting calls from Google, and now I have too. It seems they are either contacting everyone in the tech world, or there's something statistically unusual about my friends list. I wonder which it is?

i think that it is the type of people on your friends list. i know a couple of people (not via LJ) that were approached to interview as well. but this was a couple of months ago.

While I rather like a large number of people in the States, I'm afraid I'm too fond of the country as a whole, so I'd rather not move there, if I can at all avoid it.

I told them to send me information on any job openings they have in Canada or Europe.

Well that doesn't mean we can't ever meet! It just means that one of us needs to become wealthy enough to afford to visit the other.
