Next Gen Sims.

The creator of the Sims sees a new direction to go in: Spore, a game in which you create and 'evolve' a new species. This sounds like a really good idea, but it would be very hard to do it right. Lets hope Maxis has what it takes.

As to whether they can do it, well, they've had both utter winners and total disasters, so who can tell? At least modern machines finally have enough CPU for this kind of thing.

My thoughts exactly. Getting the science right would be damn near impossible.
