My State Change Switch is Stuck!
Nov. 17th, 2005 04:36 pmFirst I can't manage to fall asleep, no matter how tired I am, and then I can't manage to drag myself out of bed, no matter how much sleep I've had. It is WAY too late in the day to be having my moring coffee and thinking about breakfast.

Putting it mildly, I am not much of a morning person or rather, I'm not much of a waking-up person. I feel very much like going back to bed for the first hour or two that I'm up and if I did it would be very easy to fall asleep again. However, after that waking up period is over, I feel fine. If I struggle through this part (rather than just going to sleep for another couple hours til I really can't sleep anymore), I tend to feel really perky and happy. It also helps massively if I'm trying to be awake during daylight hours. I always forget all this when the alarm goes off unfortunately. But days like today, when I have to get up to be somewhere, I discover how nice it feels to be on a regular schedule. I will endeavour to remember this tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM.

Date: 2005-11-17 11:14 pm (UTC)I CAN get my body clock synchronized for a while, but all it takes is for me to get any semblance of a life -- like going out to dinner -- or have anything new happen that causes stress -- like having my dining-room ceiling collapse -- and my sleep is instantly screwed up again.
