You didn't screw up at all! ^_^ I've even heard that word being used exactly like that before. It just seemed like you were asking if that word was Latin.
I was curious about your question and tried some of the sources I'd used online when conjuring up a ritual for a fic I've not finished yet. Anyway, what I'm thinking is that you should use the word as a noun, rather than as a verb. It's one thing for people to see carnivorous vs carnivore but deivorous vc deivore is a titch more confusing. But you get extra brownie points for thinking up the word. And just which gods are getting eaten?
I've been trying to invent strange new creatures, and I started wondering what the list of things are that something could live off of. Gods seemed to be a nifty and scarey idea, so I tried to figure out what you would call that.
