The planet Earth is unique in having a single large moon, where most planets have many small ones. Many folks have attributed the existance of life on this planet to this fact when, in truth, its the other way around. Earth once had many small low-earth-orbit moons, but...


They were all consumed during the Cretaceous by the early Megagiraffes.

Gigagiraffes. Mere megagiraffes are unstable since their heads don't reach to geosynchronous orbit, giving them terrible backache.
