Your country rocks, I must say... though to be fair, none of us know how it would've turned out if Canada had become a world superpower instead. I don't think there's any mysterious Niceness Gene that Canadians have and Americans don't - it's just that when you're not at the top, everyone doesn't come gunning for you, you're not trying to change the world and solidify your hold on it, and you have time and breathing room to relax and enjoy life.. and I kind of wish I'd grown up there instead of here, because I'd rather have had that societal "live and let live" attitude around me.
M. and I had a very nice Dominion Day (I am a traditionalist in that sense; as far as I am concerned, Canada Day is the country's day at a World's Fair). We went to see A Perfect Man which we adored (and not just because Carson from Queer Eye) had a supporting role in it.
