It took over 40 minutes standing in line, but I have my Bibliotheque National Du Quebec card, and I`ve found some books.

It turns out they don`t have much in the way of English information about the library, despite having a decent collection of English books.

They also appear to allow one to post to Livejournal from a library terminal, but I`m honestly not sure if that is due to a decision on their part, or incompetance.

Sadly, I suspect the latter.

The libraries here in Denmark offer internet connections to everyone so using the web interface to post to LJ would definitely be possible. And without it being an erroneous setup.

But the terminal was, perhaps, not meant to give you any access to the rest of the world?

do they restrict usage ? because most of the time they allow reading webmails, so.

And if their terminal is IE based [1], security is probably not something guaranteed...

The terminals are IE based and, as they first come up, don't have an address bar. You can just add one from a pull-down menu though, and then you can go whereever you want.

I dunno. It just looked strange. Why take away the address bar unless its to prevent folks from using it? But if so, why do such a lousy job of it???

beause it is good enough for most luser and they are hiring cheap incompetent contractors.....
