Oct. 7th, 2003 10:53 amSo, I'm awake again <blink> sort of. My knee still hurts but not so much as yesterday. That sickly smell is still with me, but I've yet to show any other signs of illness, so maybe I have a mild case of whaterveritisitis.
Naturally, because I felt ill, I decided to stay in bed extra long today. The tom cat Shrederik had other ideas. Normally he never bothers to even enter the master bedroom when I'm asleep in there. (He does regularly join me to read the day's paper though. He likes to sit on the adverts.) Anyway, last night he would pop into the room every couple of hours or so, and walk around on the bed (and nuzzle my nose) just long enough to wake me up, and then he'd leave again. I think he was bored and hoping I would play. If this is what he does to Sucha (our lady cat), no wonder they have fights in the middle of the night.
Anyway, at what my clock-radio informed me was just after 10:00 am, he was nuzzling my nose, and the phone started ringing so I decided to get up. (I didn't even try to make it to the phone. Until I've had my morning tea/coffee I'm not officially awake yet.) I made tea, sat down to drink it, and discovered that the downstairs clock (and most every other one in the house) was sure it was just a few minutes past 9:00 am.
So, I'm sick, I didn't get a very good nights sleep, and I had even less sleep than I thought, and I need to stay up late tonight to be able to greet
taxlady when she finally returns from her endless international trip. I may end up taking a nap this afternoon, although I hate naps. My body just doesn't believe in them. I usually feel as bad after a 1 hour nap as I do if I've only had one hour sleep the night before.
