I just got up, and when I heard the weather report, I had second thoughts. Man, the brass monkeys are singing the castrato parts today! -22 Celcius, with a wind chill brining it to about -36. I think I'm going to stay inside today!

You know, it was pretty cold last night, too... it got down to 50 Fahrenheit (or 10 Canadian).

But today, it should be 85 Fahrenheit (29 Canadian), so I guess that makes up for it.

:P

oh an on a side note, I heard a news / weather headline snipit the night before last which went something like "dangerously cold temperatures tonight. watch news 5 at 10".

and i remember thinking to myself... it would be pretty damn hard for it to get "dangerously cold" in Texas. I mean, maybe for someone who was homeless and lived outside at night yeah... but for someone sitting in their house listening to the weather report on the news... not as likely.

looking back, i think it only dropped to about the equivalent of -4C. Very cold yes. "dangerously cold" dont think so. Those folks who live in Minnesota where it is so cold that you can freeze and egg on the sidewalk in 60 seconds live in the "dangerously cold"

-4C? Take that!

At least, the wind has come down, so there's not much windchill, but it was -41C with windchill recently.

HOLY GUACAMOLE!

I knew that it got cold in Montreal, but I didn't realize that it got THAT cold on a regular basis. I'll be sure to plan my trip to visit your wonderful city when the theps dont get below zero. (and no, it isn't a "near future" trip, Montreal is just on my list of cities to visit someday)

brrrrrr.

What is this -36°c you speak of? The coldest it ever gets in Victoria (AUS) is 1°c! Too bad I can't transfer you some of our heat! Its going to get up to 35°c today!
