So, I just fell, nay plummetted, off the Induction bandwagon. taxlady suggested pizza and I said YES! with nary a hesitation at all. It was most yummily good, but that means I have to start induction all over again tomorrow. *sigh*
As a fellow Atkins-er, all i can say is, these things happen. Try not to see it as a major setback. Sometimes the thought of having to go back to induction is enough to put you off of doing Atkins at all. I say just drink a bit more water today, and eat the number of carbs you usually allow yourself. Good Luck :)
Nah, I'm not gonna be too hard on myself. Actually, I blame the weather. I have eaten all of the induction-friendly food in the house and yesterday taxlady was going to pick up some more. Instead she got stuck in traffic for 4 hours and suggested she bring home the pizza since that would not involve a detour. Knowing that her inability to get to a store meant I would have to restart induction anyway, I said yes.
Under other circumstances I'd have had more will power -- even if pizza IS my kryptonite.
So, needless to say it was a Montreal style pizza. Nummy. All dressed, extra cheese? Double Nummy.
This post ain't helping the return to induction, is it? I'll return you to the regularly scheduled carb reduced fair. And she was correct - this one time pizza falter is merely a bump in the road, not a fork.
Actually, all dressed with extra cheese would have been better. This was just perperoni and cheese -- thus it was percentage-wise mostly crust and thus mostly carbs
Same thing happened with us last night... I started Atkins in october of 98 and have way too much experience with falling off the wagon...still as camb says, lotsa water, don't turn one mess up into an all out carb fest and keep more yummy stuff on hand..
I make a pizza casserole that really is quite amazing...tell me if you want the recipe though I think it['s posted on atkinsfriends...it's fussy though
simple form. Mike's pepperoni, single layer on a plate...cover with cheese, microwave about 1 and half minutes I use two plates to alternate layers.. I sautee my veggies (mushrooms and peppers) and set aside and pizza sauce, I make my own regular sauce with artificial sweetener.. now. in a round cake tin layer one pepp/cheese...spread thinly with sauce. slide another layer on top, a little sauce and the veggies, another layer, a little more sauce.. and a little cheese on top toss in the oven, bake at about 400 for like 10 minutes or so, gets bubbly..let it sit for a good 10 -15.. slice like pie

Pizza - the ultimate diet wrecker. Or is that French Fries?
