I've been sitting here trying to convince myself that there's a bunch of writing that I REALLY need to sit down and do. So far, it hasn't worked.

Bah, maybe I'll go watch some TV.

How about bringing a noteblock with you to the TV and then writing a couple of paragraphs or getting the basic structure of the document sorted out?

It's usually something like that that gets me started... unless it's some kind of technical report that has to be finished yesterday ;-)

I can't really write on paper. It just doesn't work for me. I can't write fast enough to keep up with my thoughts, and by the time I get to the end of the sentence, I've forgotten where I started and where I was going. Plus, I edit so much that its really hard to get my ideas down if I can't reorder the words as I go.

The dumb thing is, I often get great inspirations to write things when I'm nowhere near my computer and have no way to actually sit down and do it.
