Due to a bug in another program (which locked my D: drive and then crashed) my email program (pegasus) was unable to read its master folder index file when I tried to shut it down to reboot. So, it created a NEW one.

Now all 7000 of my folders, which before were carefully arranged in a heirarchy, are now all in a single flat directory structure. I don't think I lost any data (other than the shape of my heirarchy) but its gonna take DAYS to fix it, if I can even figure out where all of the folder belong...

Crickey! Hopefully pegasus has a decent filter functionality so you can "easily" recreate most of the structure?

The file that got corrupted is called "HIERARCH.PM". It's located in pmail\mail\sti. You can make backup copies of it every now and again, so you don't have to make it up from scratch when that happens. I actually do make backups of it once in a while. Hmm I think I'll shut down Pegasus Mail now and make a backup.
