I'm so Totally Newb

I just download GAIM to check out this whole chat thang. It's supposed to do AIM, ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, and Zephyr all at the same time. I've just now gone and installed it. Now what?

Now you start gaim (duuuhhh) press on the "Account" button and configure a couple of accounts.

If you don't have any accounts with the various IM services you create them, otherwise you just add them...

Then you connect to a couple and you're ready to be spammed by messages from weird people like AIM's "StaalLos" or Yahoo's "skjalm_arroe". I have no idea who those strange creatures are, but they're always online when I am... strange... ;-)

It turns out I already had a Yahoo account! (name=stirlingwestrup) azrhey showed me that my yahoo email is also a Yahoo chat account. I never knew.

need to get account. Only Jabber allow you to register account directly for the client.

Otherwise, http://aim.aol.com for AIM account.

IRC do not need account.

As for MSN, I never found a way and I don't care.
