So, it looks like [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I shall be partaking of the Movies on Thursday.  We'd like to go to the 4:35 PM showing of Shrek 2 at dollarcinema. All interested are welcome to join us!

I should also point out that I'm going to be in town on Tuesday for another business meeting. I'll probably spend a few hours after the meeting at Concordia or McGill libraries, but after than I would be free to play Catan, if there is any interest.

The September issue of IEEE Spectrum, which I received a couple
of days ago, has an article about being a CTO in a technology
start-up. Check it out and let us know if you think the author
(Frans M. Coetzee) is an idiot or not.

First article is in the "Resources" section, pg 64, called "Here
Be Dragons: Rule 1 in managing a technology start-up: beware the
easy money". Won't be on the website for another month, it looks
like. Subsequent articles in the series will *only* be on the
website (in the Careers section). Do you see this magazine on
newsstands anywhere?

The same issue also has an interesting analysis of how aging of
biological organisms is a lot like how machines with many
redundant components (some of which start out broken) age.

Am I correct in assuming that it's Settlers of Catan you mention?

Having only played it a handful of times (or maybe 50, but who's counting ;-) I still haven't come to the point where I feel that games get repetitive... do they become that?
Or do all the different expansions help make each game more unique?
