Didn't exactly get a lot accomplished today. Slept in until noon. Read my email and online comics SLOOOOWLY on my 56kb modem, and then, once I was no longer speaking in tongues, I phoned tech support and told them my service was fall-down-go-boom.

I then made arrangements to drop of my borked air-conditioner, and just as I was about to leave, [livejournal.com profile] _sps_ phoned me to let me know my machine was connected again. Yay Bandwidth!

Then [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I did a little drive and dropped off the AC, and we returned. I was sufficiently exhausted from that that all I had energy for was a few hours of CIV III, then we made a late meal, and now, its now. Prolly go to bed soon.

Oh, one thing of interest happened yesterday, I watched A&E's Biography of Bete Midler. It was fairly interesting, but what astonished me was that a number of Bete's facial expressions and mannerisms are very reminiscent of my friend [livejournal.com profile] tepintzin! Expecially in her early years before she went with the wild makeup and costumes (Bete, not Tepi). When [livejournal.com profile] taxlady came to watch with me, I told her this, and she doubted me, until they showed a closeup of Bete with one of those expressions on her face, and she had to exclaim that I was right.

Whoa! Really? I like Bette Midler despite her penchant for making chickflicks; she makes jokes about her boobs a lot and she's very brassy.

Yup, it was startling. It sounds absurd, but there you go.
