Made it!

Well, here I am in Silicon Valley! There were some flight delays such that I wasn't sure if I'd make it on time, but I eventually arrived only a few minutes later than
scheduled. I've checked into room 262 of the Quality Inn and Suites, and everything.

The room seems fine although I gathered that it should have *both* WiFi and a Lan, and I've only found the former. Good enough for now, but I'll ask about it in the morning.

I, however, am toast. The only reason I'm still "awake" enough to type this and not face-first on the bed is that the room was an oven when I got in. The air-conditioner is currently dealing with that and I figure that the room will be a decent temperature by the time I finish reading LJ.

Busy Day.

Had a very busy day. Slept somewhat fitfully last night and got up around 10:30 to search for coffee and breakfast. That accomplished I phoned sps to let him know I was awake. He was just finishing breakfast and was dropped off here by his SO as she had things to get done.

We wandered the area talking and catching up on stuff while I did some minor shopping. We finally got back to my hotel room and chilled out for an hour or so until it was time to go out to supper with him and the SO.

Now, I have been dropped off here again, and its time get ready for bed. Tomorrow is the big day when I start work on my contract. I'm hoping that after all of the official exchanges of NDA documents and such has occurred and I've been briefed I'll then be able to let folks know in general who I'm working for, although I'm sure I won't be allowed to reveal any specifics on what I'm doing here.
