Since [livejournal.com profile] azrhey is now working in the airline industry, I thought I should provide her with some of the really wrong maps made by Swiss Air and Aer Lingus. Just remember: Use these for Awesome, not Evil.

Its kinda sad that feeling healthy and in good spirits two days in a row is worthy of note in my blog, but there you go. At least I'm reporting something good.
I sorta suspect that the good feeling is, at least in part, from having a reasonable amount of good news mixed with the bad this last week. So, some things aren't as bad as they seemed at first, unexpected money arrived, etc. Seeing some of my favorite people last night didn't hurt at all either.

Now I need to wake up and get on with my day.

EDIT: Well, it sure didn't wait very long for bad news to show up after posting this. [livejournal.com profile] taxlady just broke her marble pestle.

It seems that a complete original copy of Fritz Lang's Metropolis has recently been found in a museum's archives in Argentina. It has already been turned over to German film restorers who will be working to make a fully restored version of the Classic movie.

Today was not exactly what I would call stress-free but I seem to have gotten through it fairly well. Having things to look forward to helps (3 party invites so far this month -- the first of which is for tomorrow). Also having something you can do to deal with your problems helps, even if it only ameliorates them, not solves them.

Did some stuff with all the computers I've got laying around that I've been meaning to do various projects with. I think its time that my 486 box (running as a router) gets retired finally. Its also looking like all I need for one of my projects to bear fruit a $10 video dongle. So, that may well be a purchase soon.

Beets?

Linda just made beets with our (late) supper, and I liked them. I've never really liked beets before. Well, not until I had some in Denmark a couple of years ago, but these were nothing like that. I wonder if the reason is:
  • I have a more mature palate now?
  • My tastes buds have withered away with age?
  • I've never had good beets before?
  • I've never honestly given them a chance before?
  • Mercury is in retrograde?
Any ideas?
