Back Home.

I'm back home again now. taxlady and I spent the weekend at my folks place, and it was as peaceful as ever. About a week ago my father had a minor stroke, and ended up a bit weak on his right side (which is bad, as he doesn't have a left arm), and started having difficulty walking and talking. He's going in for a brain scan on Friday, and we'll find out how much damage was done then.

Still, I'm quite optimistic as he was noticeably improved on the weekend from when I talked to him on the phone, and he got better yet during our stay. I have some hope that it was the mental stimulation of our visit that did it. He tends to get in a rut when nothing is going on around him, and that can't be good for his recovery. So, as I say, I have hopes for a complete or near-complete recovery for him. Time will tell.

Not much else to report. shreddy weathered our absence okay, although he has been awfully clingy since we got back.

Statistics show that 3 out of 4 women prefer my beard cut shorter, in the style the Drunken Master sfries did it for me. Alas for me, the dissenting vote is taxlady who has a veto, and liked it better the other way.
