Haven't been posting much but the occasional pointer to a news article lately. I've just been too busy. There are a half-dozen projects or so that I've been making progress on, all at once, and its been dizzy-making as I keep having to switch gears. For example, [livejournal.com profile] sps spent the weekend here and there was the intention of us collaborating on one project while he was here (which we did) but I more-or-less abandoned him yesterday to help Linda with work that she needs to get finished and handed off to a client by tomorrow.

Today I'm switching gears again as Linda and I need to prep the basement (mostly clean the carpet) for all of our stuff to arrive back from the warehouse tomorrow. I also need to write up at least a first draft of a letter to a potential client, but I'm not sure how I'll manage to work that in.

Tomorrow morning is the Tech. Entrepreneur's breakfast and so I'll  be heading downtown in the very early and then racing back to help with the guys bringing all our stuff back.

Wednesday morning is open, but I'll need to head downtown early afternoon to meet someone and then head off to a warhammer game afterwards. (Planned relaxation periods now being essential!)

Thursday I haven't got planned yet, but there's a bunch of stuff that I need to get done, so some of it will be done then.

Friday I'm stuck at home waiting for Dishwasher Repair Man, but experience has shown that he often arrives before noon so I might end up with my afternoon free. I can't count on it though, of course.

This weekend is Father's day, and its possible that [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I shall head over to my folk's place to spend the weekend. We haven't seen them since before tax season. (Of course, this assumes no major deadlines for [livejournal.com profile] taxlady, but I think most of her biz clients need their stuff by Friday the 15th, so we should be good).

After that, I don't know, other than there appear to be a number of weekend parties the weekend after, including Sandy's grad party, which I am looking forward to.

Starve Yourself with one simple injection! It seems that scientists have discovered that a hormone known as FGF21 seems to regulate the body's reaction to starvation. A simple injection of this hormone seems to trigger the fat-burning response that normally requires fasting to activate. No one knows what the side effects of taking this might be, yet, but you can bet the diet pill companies will do their best to make use of it.

So, it turns out Twitter is good for something after all. Here I'm linking to the twitter page of Othar Tryggvassen, Gentleman Adventurer and Professional Hero. Othar is a recurring character in the brilliant Girl Genius web comic. His adventures, as recorded by twitter, make for wonderful reading.

Here's an interesting graphic of how long it takes your body to recover from smoking damage.

I should mention that I first thought of building drawers into staircases like this when I still lived with my parents. Now, someone has done it. And to think, all this time I've been told it wasn't practical.
