It figures. I finally get to bed at a reasonable time, only to be woken up by a bittersweet nightmare about a dear friend discovering that they had a terminal illness and deciding to hold the wake while they're still around to enjoy it. If not for the context, it would have been a very pleasant, and even funny dream...

Okay, lets try this sleeping and dreaming thing again. More fun bits this time, less drama, okay?

Randomly clicking on links to links to links in someones Livejournal can be dangerous. I just found this gallery of scrotums (scroti?).

I managed to get back to sleep last night, and didn't have any more nightmares, just good dreams. Which is better. I also slept through my alarm which is not terrible seeing as the cleaners never came. We've now heard officially from them and they'll be back tomorrow morning around 9:00 am. So, I'll need to get to bed early tonight. Hopefully not a problem.

And now, to remind myself of the goodness that can come from dreams, and their non-prophetic nature, I shall relate certain dream-facts that I just learned about our own [livejournal.com profile] thebabynancy:

  • She can cast spells, although the one that lets her fly is one she clearly needs more practice with. Also, when she does this, she appears as an anime character with glowing balls of ethereal force radiating from her hands.
  • She has an estranged identical twin sister named 'Nadine' who looks exactly the same except for square-rimmed glasses and the fact that she dies her hair blue. She also has a tendency to moroseness. Even in my dream it was clear that both 'Nancy' and 'Nadine' were being played by the same actress.
  • She knows how to mix a drink called a 'black mimosa' that looks like weak black coffee until you stir it, at which point white clouds appear around the spoon, and vanish again when you stop stirring. I never got the full recipe, but it seems to require butter, sugar and cream to make, and has to be served hot. I tasted it in my dreams and liked it, but I have no idea this morning what it actually tasted like.

No one responded to my last request for syndication help, but I'm asking for another one anyway. I'm interested in keeping up with news in Copenhagen, but I don't read Danish. Luckily, there appears to be an RSS feed for an English-Language paper from there. If someone could syndicate http://www.jp.dk/rss_english/ then I should be able to read it on my normal LJ news page, and I would be happy!

So, is this guy thinking more along the lines of "When's Lunch?" or "There, but for the grace of God, go I"?

I need to go into town tomorrow to return some overdue library books. Would anyone like to meet up with me for coffee sometime during the afternoon or evening?
