Extended Snorflage.
Jan. 3rd, 2007 01:50 pmUnder the original version of my Holiday plans, today would be the first day back on my diet. Instead its been pushed off to tomorrow as I never managed to get to Taco Bell during the holidays, what with all the unplanned drama and all. Besides, we hadn't finished the trifle yet either.
So, I had half of the remaining trifle for breakfast (leaving the rest for
taxlady) and we shall be going to Taco Bell shortly. While that is going on, I shall be transcoding the last two episodes of Torchwood (and how did I get a full episode behind anyway???) into a format that doesn't display with the right half of the picture missing.
I have no idea what is causing that, other than a wonky codec. My video editing program (VirtualDubMod) claims the episodes are correctly formatted, and can play them without trouble. Of course VirtualDubMod plays them jerkily with the sound coming in bursts, or I'd just watch it in my editor. After all, I'm not keeping the episodes (no disk space for that).
Currently the status thingy says it will take four hours to transcode each episode, and that assumes I don't make much use of my computer. I may end up spending time reading in a coffee shop today as a result. Or maybe I'll try some writing. Wordperfect takes up very little CPU when all you're doing is typing.
In any case, with luck I shall manage to watch both episodes today. Which is good since half of the posts on my LJ f-list has **SPOILER** flags about these episodes, so I'd very much like to watch them and find out what the fuss is all about.
From what I've been unable to avoid seeing so far my guess are:
( Do guesses count as possible spoilers??? )
