I'm still sick, with the nonstop headache, but I had to get out of bed because [livejournal.com profile] taxlady has to go visit a client, and we're expecting a delivery of some office supplies. We go through enough paper during tax season that we often get a bale1 or two delivered.

Anyway, the loverly lady brought me hot coffee and AC&C in bed, and let [livejournal.com profile] shreddy in to the bedroom to help me wake up. We played a rousing game of 'toe pounce' while I was sipping my coffee. If one MUST wake up and get out of bed, that's a very pleasant way to do so.

1 A bale is 10 reams, where each ream is 20 quires of paper. (The paper is actually delivered in 1-bale boxes, each of which holds 10 1-ream packages, although these units are mentioned nowhere on the packaging.)  I just love these crufty old units for their baroqueness, but give me metric for practicality any day.

I went through the entire (hated) process of cutting and pasting my resume into Matrox's job system in the hopes that they would keep it on file and match me up with prospective jobs. Anyone reading the results would see at once that a) my french is lousy and b) I'm a software guy. So far the job offers they have sent me are:
  1. French-only hardware designer.
  2. French technical writer
  3. Mail room clerk.
In each message they touted how their wonderful system matched me up with these jobs. They seriously need to reprogram said system -- with an axe.
