I just read about Foxie, a plugin for Internet Exploder that gives it many of the features of firefox, such as improved security and tabbed browsing.
When I installed it, it did a security check and told me IE had 3 different trojans installed. I never even USE IE unless I'm going to a windows site, so I wonder how the heck I got infected? Anyway, its nice to see the scanner caught stuff that my other 2 regular sweeping programs didn't.

Regeneration.
Sep. 1st, 2005 07:34 amScientists in Australia have announced that they have produced mice that can regenerate all of the various tissues of their bodies, except for the brain. This trick also seems to be transferable by injecting non-regenerative mice with fetal cells from the regenerating strain.
This certainly has possibilities! The next thing I want to know is how susceptible to cancer these creatures are, since one theory of why mammals don't regenerate has to do with increasing our resistance to cancer.

Yard Sale.
Sep. 1st, 2005 06:51 pmOof. I've spent much of the day hauling magazines and boxes of same around. We're collecting all of the stuff that we're either going to sell, give away or dispose of by other means. We'll start this weekend with a yard sale. Anyone need a 20-year run of Byte magazine? Scientific Americans from the 70s? How about a whole bunch of ISA cards?
Man, I hope this area has a high nerd quotient, or none of this is ever gonna sell.
