Finally Awake.
May. 24th, 2005 01:37 pmWhen I finally fell asleep last night, I managed to sleep well, and now I am awake (although still feeling tired). I have me some coffee and I have me a major case of the sneezles. Its strange that, although I have all sorts of troubles with my sinuses, sneezing fits for me are rare. This morning though, I'm sneezing a lot. I don't really mind though. Experience has shown that mornings when I wake up sneezing are days in which my sinuses don't do any nasties on me.
Brain's Sarcasm Center found.
May. 24th, 2005 03:22 pmAt least, scientists have found the part of the brain responsible for understanding sarcasm. Soon, no doubt, there will be brain prostheses available for the sarcsam impaired. Maybe, one day, all forms of humor impairment can be cured.
Darwin Awards.
May. 24th, 2005 03:42 pmSince the issue of the Darwin Awards came up recently in my Blog, I thought I would post a link to a wonderful story that purports to be the true story behind the darwin award about the rocket car that flew into a cliff. I don't know if it is true or not, but I found it to be a delightful read. See if you don't agree.
Today I did something I've been meaning to do for ages. I started writing a story. I doubt the story will be any good, or that I'll ever be ready to let anyone see it, but at least I've started it. I've had the ideas for the story bouncing around in my head since December, so I finally decided to work on it.
So far all I've got is some dialog from early in chapter 2, but its a start. Now I have to go and review style guides and such because I keep finding that there's all sorts of technical stuff having to do with dialog writing that I've forgotten because it never comes up in technical writing.
I wonder where I can get a good guide to the New or Logical quotation style and how to apply it to dialogs. Hmmm.
